Davies International was founded by John Davies in 1971, operating just one vehicle. Later joined by his wife Jill in 1976, he operated two vehicles, mainly to Italy. Throughout the 1980s, Davies International received increased demand for refrigerated transport to and from western Europe. So much so, in 1991, the company made a decision to specialise in temperature controlled transport and the fleet size grew to its peak of 33 vehicles over the next five years. Operations were conducted from the company site based in Southampton for ten years until 2001, when Davies International relocated to Fareham. The move enabled Davies International to flex its muscles and offer a more varied range of services to its clients, which include; Temperature controlled transport UK and International James and Steven Davies were introduced to the business in 1992 and 1996 respectively, which clearly emphasised Davies Internationals intention to remain a family run business. This is reflected in the level of high quality commitment, professionalism and flexibility we guarantee to every client.
